Privacy Policy
Updated September 24, 2026
1. Scope and responsibility
Halen Technologies Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Halen," "we," "us," or "our"), is responsible for personal information handled through its websites, customer and driver applications, waitlists, and support interactions. This Policy explains the information we collect, why we use it, how it is shared, and the choices available to you.
Our initial services are rideshare and package delivery, offered market by market after required approvals, insurance, and operating readiness. Before launch, information is used for waitlists, account preparation, testing, recruitment, and onboarding as applicable. Trip and delivery information applies when those features are used. Future food, grocery, retail, flight, and vacation rental services will receive appropriate disclosures before they are offered; their mention elsewhere does not mean we currently collect travel or hospitality information.
This Policy is a notice about our practices, not blanket consent to every use of information. Where law requires separate permission, we will request it. See our Terms & Conditions for the rules governing use of Halen.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account and waitlist information: name, email address, phone number, city, account role, login information, and preferences you submit.
- Profile and support information: profile details, communications with support, feedback, safety reports, and information you choose to provide about accessibility needs.
- Booking information: pickup and destination addresses, instructions, service requests, and details needed to arrange a trip or delivery.
- Package information: sender and recipient names and contact details, package description, any value information requested, handover instructions, and proof of pickup or delivery.
- Payment information: payment-method details submitted to our payment providers and transaction references, billing information, charges, refunds, and payment status. Payment providers handle full card details under their own privacy and security practices.
Provide another person's information only when authorized or otherwise permitted by law, and tell recipients that their information is being supplied to arrange a delivery. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in package descriptions or instructions.
2.2 Driver and courier information
For onboarding and ongoing eligibility, we collect relevant identity, age, contact, driver's license, driving-history, vehicle, registration, insurance, and screening information. We also process payout details, tax information where required, subscription records, earnings, and service history. Screening providers may supply background-check or motor-vehicle reports after the required disclosure and authorization process.
If an identity-verification process uses a selfie or identity document, the collection notice explains that use. If a feature involves biometric identifiers subject to special legal requirements, Halen will provide the required notice, consent process, and retention information before that processing begins. This Policy alone does not authorize biometric processing.
2.3 Location, trip, and delivery information
Depending on your role, device permissions, and the features you use, Halen processes approximate or precise location to identify pickup points, match requests, navigate, estimate arrival times, and support safety and service records. Driver location may be processed in the background while the driver is online and available or handling an accepted service.
Service records may include the driver and customer identifiers, service type, city, route, availability status, acceptance, arrival, pickup and completion times, distance, fare, and delivery confirmation. Location and status records support calculation of mileage during availability before acceptance, travel to pickup, and the passenger or package service period. The data available depends on the feature, device connectivity, and system records; this Policy does not certify the contents of a particular report.
You can manage location permissions in device settings. Restricting location may prevent location-dependent features or driver service activity. Ending driver availability stops the operational need to track availability; processing necessary to finish an active service or meet a legal obligation may continue.
2.4 Device and website information
We collect technical information associated with use of our services, such as IP address, device and operating-system type, browser, application version, access times, activity logs, and error reports. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies may support authentication, preferences, security, and service performance. Their use depends on the website or application features in use.
2.5 Information from others
We receive relevant information from payment, mapping, screening, authentication, and other service providers, and from users who submit trip details, delivery details, feedback, or safety reports. If you use a third-party sign-in option, we receive information authorized through that provider, such as your name, email address, and account identifier. We do not receive your password for that provider.
3. How we use information
- Create and manage accounts, waitlists, and driver onboarding.
- Verify eligibility and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse.
- Arrange, complete, and document rides and package deliveries.
- Process payments, subscriptions, payouts, refunds, and tax reporting.
- Communicate about account activity, service requests, policy updates, and support issues.
- Investigate safety events and complaints and administer insurance-related reporting and claims.
- Maintain and improve application reliability, security, and service performance.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, preserve necessary records, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Send marketing communications when permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
We limit use of sensitive information to appropriate service, eligibility, safety, legal, and other permitted purposes. Where required, we obtain consent or provide an applicable choice before processing.
4. How we share information
- Participants in a service: customers receive relevant driver and vehicle information; drivers receive pickup, destination, and necessary customer or recipient details. Senders and recipients may receive delivery status and confirmation.
- Service providers: providers supporting hosting, authentication, maps, communications, payments, screening, support, and security receive information needed for their functions, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions.
- Authorized local operators: if a service is managed by an authorized Halen franchise or local operator, relevant operational information may be shared to manage that service, support, safety, and compliance.
- Insurance and professional advisers: relevant records may be provided to brokers, insurers, claims administrators, legal advisers, and auditors for underwriting, coverage administration, claims, or professional services. We limit disclosure to the information appropriate for the purpose and applicable law.
- Legal and safety purposes: information may be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, safety, security, or legal claims.
- Business transactions: information may be transferred in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and required notices.
- At your direction: information may be shared when you request or authorize it.
Halen does not sell personal information for money. If an advertising practice constitutes a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable privacy law, applicable notice and opt-out requirements apply. You can submit an opt-out request using the contact details below. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals where applicable. This statement does not claim that a particular advertising integration is currently enabled.
5. Your choices and privacy rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by emailing privacy@halentech.com. You may also request account closure through support. Device settings control permissions such as location and notifications. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option; marketing opt-outs do not stop necessary account, safety, or service messages. For text messages, follow the opt-out instructions supplied with the message.
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to know what information is collected and disclosed; obtain a portable copy; correct or delete information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain uses of sensitive information; or withdraw consent. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. Halen will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
To make a request, describe what you want and identify the account using your account email or phone number. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or identity documents with an initial request. We may need proportionate verification before acting. Legal exceptions may require retention or limit fulfillment. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain a denial where required. If applicable law provides an appeal right, email the same address with "Privacy Appeal" and the details of the decision; you may also contact the relevant regulator.
6. Cookies and third-party services
You can use browser controls to delete or restrict cookies and similar storage, although this may affect sign-in and other functions. Where consent is legally required for nonessential technologies, it must be obtained before those technologies are used. Required opt-out signals and requests are handled under applicable law.
Third-party websites, payment services, and sign-in providers have their own privacy policies. A link from Halen does not make Halen responsible for their independent practices. Review their notices when interacting directly with them.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose, including account administration, trip and delivery records, insurance and safety matters, financial reporting, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Retention depends on the type of information, service, applicable law, and any legal hold. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to backup cycles and lawful retention requirements.
Halen uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No service or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your account credentials and report suspected unauthorized access promptly. Any legally required security-incident notice will be provided as applicable.
8. Children
Halen customer accounts are for people age 18 or older, and driver accounts are for people age 25 or older. Children may travel with a responsible adult under the Terms. Halen does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without a lawful basis and any required parental consent. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information inappropriately so we can review and address it.
9. Processing locations
Halen is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where authorized providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, Halen will apply those safeguards. Merely using the service does not replace a legally required transfer mechanism or consent.
10. Updates
We may update this Policy as our services and practices change. The revised date appears above. Material changes will be communicated as required by law, and additional consent will be requested where required. New services or materially different uses of information will receive appropriate disclosures before they begin.
