What can change the total.
The price you see is for the trip as you entered it. These can change what you pay:

| Added stops | Waiting at an intermediate stop is charged from the moment the driver arrives. |
| Waiting | The first two minutes at pickup and at final drop-off are free. After that, waiting is charged at your vehicle category’s rate. |
| Destination changes | A new destination changes the trip, so the price can change. |
| Tolls | Tolls on your route are added to your trip. |
| Tips | Optional, and separate from the fare. |
What does not change it.
Demand. Halen does not use surge pricing, so a busy night, bad weather, or a big game does not multiply your fare.

Is the price in the app the final price?
It is the price for the trip as you booked it. Added stops, waiting beyond the free minutes, destination changes, and tolls can change the total. Tips are optional.
Does the estimate include the booking fee?
Yes. The $3.95 booking fee is part of the price shown, including when the minimum fare applies.
Why do different categories cost different amounts?
Larger and luxury vehicles cost more to operate. Compare the categories in the app and pick the one that fits your group and luggage.
How are taxi fares calculated?
