HALEN / WHY HALEN
A driver-first model and a simpler approach to everyday movement. Here is what makes Halen different—and what that means for you.
Halen’s approach pairs everyday rides with pricing without a demand-based surge multiplier. Know what the journey costs before deciding whether it works for you.
Drivers use a subscription model and keep 100% of ride fares, minus third-party fees. The platform’s model is built around a recurring subscription rather than a percentage commission on each fare.
Getting somewhere and getting something delivered are connected needs. Halen brings rides and package delivery into a broader vision for one place to manage more of your day.
Halen founder Edward Mbeche has spent more than 25 years in transportation and hospitality, working as a dispatcher, managing transportation operations, and running a limousine business. He also drove for Uber to help fund Halen.
That experience shaped a practical question: could a platform work better for the people who rely on driving for a living, while making the customer’s journey simpler? Halen’s subscription approach is the answer the company is building.
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| No surge | No demand-based surge multiplier. Different trips can still have different prices, and applicable fees remain part of the total. |
| Drivers keep their fares | The claim refers to the ride fare, minus third-party fees. It does not mean the driver has no subscription or operating expenses. |
| One platform, growing over time | Check the services actually available where you are. A broader product vision does not mean every service is available in every city. |
Start with your pickup and destination, the available service, and the full price. Compare the things that matter to you: capacity, timing, travel needs, and the terms of the booking.
