Why there is a reservation fee.
To make sure your driver is ready on time, Halen blocks the driver for at least 30 minutes before your pickup. The driver cannot take other trips during that time, so the reservation fee pays for the time held for you.

Why does a scheduled ride cost more than an on-demand ride?
The reservation fee covers the time your driver is held for you: at least 30 minutes before pickup, with no other trips. On-demand rides do not have this fee.
How much is the reservation fee?
Between $5 and $12, depending on whether you choose an Economy or Luxury category. The app shows the exact amount before you confirm.
Can I schedule a ride for someone else?
Yes. Halen supports scheduled rides and rides booked for another person. Share the vehicle and driver details with your passenger so they can match the ride.
