HALEN / DRIVING WITH MORE THAN ONE APP

One app at a time
protects your claim.

Being online with Halen and another rideshare app at the same time can leave you without coverage after an accident.

How a claim gets denied.

You are waiting for a request with Halen and two other rideshare apps all online. Before any request comes in, you are in an accident.

Each company’s insurer sees that you were online with the others. To an insurer, overlapping policies can look like an attempt to collect on the same accident more than once. Your claim can be investigated, delayed, or denied, and you may be left paying for the damage yourself.

Rideshare insurance policies also commonly exclude coverage while you are performing services for another company. If another app has you on a trip or heading to a pickup, that company’s insurance applies, not Halen’s.

How to protect yourself.

01

One app at a time

When you drive for Halen, keep other rideshare apps off.

02

Switch cleanly

Turn the other app fully off before you go online with Halen.

03

Be honest

If you file a claim, tell Halen about every app that was on. Leaving it out can void your claim.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Multi-app questions.

Can I drive for other apps?

Yes. Independently obtained work is permitted, but it is not a Halen service, and Halen’s coverage does not apply while you are driving for another app.

What if I forget to turn another app off?

Your claim may be investigated, delayed, or denied. Make switching apps fully off part of your routine.

Does this apply to deliveries too?

Yes. The same risk applies to any app that has you online or on a job.
